Indian delegation to COP27 to be led by Union Minister Bhupender Yadav

Indian Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav will lead the Indian delegation to the UNFCCC 27th Conference of Parties (COP 27). Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt will host the conference from 6th to 18th November. Under the Paris agreement and the convention, countries will come together at COP 27 to achieve the world’s collective climate goals. Attendees include heads of state and governments. India fully supports the efforts by the Government of Egypt for substantive outcomes at COP 27.

India expects substantial progress in climate finance discussions and clarity on its definition. A goal of $100 billion in climate finance by 2020 and every year thereafter through 2025 has yet to be achieved. The LiFE movement is a pro-people, pro-planet movement that India will invite all countries to join. Rather than wasting natural resources, it encourages mindful use and conscious consumption.
